Phantom of the Opera Slot in the Making

Among the sneak peeks provided by Microgaming to visitors to its stand at the ICE Totally Gaming 2017 exhibit in London last week, was a look at one of its projected new games for later in the year.

Microgaming thrilled players by announcing the release of a new branded game, namely Phantom of the Opera. The new game will be based on the 2004 movie version of Andrew Lloyd Weber's famous stage musical.

The film itself was adapted from the original 1986 musical, and starred Gerard Butler and Emmy Rossum, among other great names. The movie was so successful that it managed to earn over $154 million worldwide.

This new branded slot will be a huge boost to Microgaming's already rich portfolio, and it promises to be a hit when it is finally released in the second half of the year.

New Genre of Branded Content

The Games Publisher at Microgaming, David Reynolds, spoke about Microgaming's decision to develop a game out of the Phantom of the Opera brand.

"The Phantom of the Opera has had unequivocal success, played to over 140 million people worldwide!" he said. "It's exciting to be working with a musical, a new genre of branded content for Microgaming, extending and broadening our portfolio of games."

Reynolds said that the Phantom of the Opera slot was due out in the third quarter of 2017.

"This game will be a true celebration of the world's biggest opera, balancing a healthy mix of base game features with a feature-packed free spins round," he promised.
