eCOGRA Awarded Multiyear Danish Contract

eCOGRA (eCommerce Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance), the independent testing agency and player protection and standards organization, has inked a multiyear contract with Denmark's largest gambling group, Danske Spil.

The four year deal will see eCOGRA provide certification services for Danske Spil's subsidiaries and software providers. Part of the service will include quarterly and annual audits by eCOGRA's team to ensure that the regulations set by the strict Danish Gambling Authority are being adhered to.

eCOGRA will also certify new games as they are released to the Danish online gambling industry, as well as changes to business and gambling functions.

The London based group will be required to test, inspect and issue certificates that are applicable to platforms and games of the subsidiaries, as well as third party software platform providers.

Widely Recognized Gambling Authority

The multiyear contract is considered a major coup for eCOGRA due to the fact that the Danish Gambling Authority has one of the best reputations in the business.

The co-chief operating officer of eCOGRA, Shaun McCallaghan pointed to the Danish authority's standing in the online gambling world and added: "eCOGRA currently provides certification services to a third of the online licensees in Denmark, as well as numerous software providers and sub-contractors, and the opportunity to extend our work following a highly competitive tender process to an organization of this caliber in such an effective regulatory jurisdiction is a privilege."
