Microgaming Handed Guinness World Records Certificate

The ICE Totally Gaming expo was the site of an exciting ceremony this week, when the largest jackpot payout on an online slot machine game was recognized by the Guinness World of Records.

Jon Heywood, the winner of the €17,879,645 jackpot on Microgaming's Mega Moolah video slot game, as well as Betway Casino where the jackpot was hit, received a certificate from officials representing the Guinness World of Records, as did Microgaming.

Following the certificate presentation, an exclusive question and answers session was held with the winner.

Microgaming Proud to Share Record

Microgaming was naturally proud to hold the record breaking ceremony at its stand at the ICE Totally Gaming expo.

The chief executive officer of Microgaming, Roger Raatgever said: "It was fantastic to welcome Jon to our stand at ICE for the official GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS certificate handover. Having spent some time with him today, I can honestly say it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. We're proud to share the world record and look forward to creating our next jackpot millionaire."

The win was made on Microgaming's Mega Moolah slot game at Betway Casino on October 6th, 2015.

Jon Heywood made a minor wager - just 25 p - on the five reel, 25 pay line game and took home a massive 52 million times his bet.

Plans for Mega Moolah Slot Winner

Jon Heywood has been basking in the excitement of his win since October. At the time of his win, he promised that he would use the money to help his father with critical health issues.

Asked at the ICE expo this week what he planned to do with his money, he replied: "It's been a few months since the win, but I still can't quite believe I won such a life-changing amount! And to officially become a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title holder is the icing on the cake. With my winnings I've enjoyed some nice holidays, bought a new car, ensured my family are looked after and invested wisely for the future. It's been incredible."
